Churinga Station is a 50,000 Ha pastoral property 130km east of Broken Hill which is fully certified organic with Biological Farmers of Australia.  Garry Hannigan is the third generation owner of   Churinga which has been in the family since 1951.
There is an extensive grazing operation consisting of 3000 meat sheep Damara x Dorper ewes, 2000 Merino x Dorper ewes, 50 head of cattle and 1000 breeding goats which are all certified organic produce. 
By diversifying into the arid friendly Damara – Dorper breeds it has enabled me to conservatively stock my land and produce a world class product in harmony with the environment.
The major enterprise on Churinga is meat sheep, 3000 Damara x Dorper producing organic lamb direct from the paddock for Sydney/Melbourne domestic organic market.
The purpose of running Merino sheep is for organic wool and organic crossbred lamb production.
Churinga also contains 5000 hectares of land, fenced, destocked, managed and monitored solely for conservation outcomes.
